As long as you mow often enough to remove no more than one third of the grass blade, the easiest thing to do is just to leave clippings on the lawn. The pieces break down quickly and reduce the amount of fertilizer you have to use by as much as 25 percent. And research has proven that the clippings don’t cause thatch to build up.

Bush hogging is the process of using a bush hog, or rotary mower, to clear large areas of vegetation. It is often used for land maintenance and is a great solution for removing thick clumps of brush, trees, weeds and tall grass. Bush hogging cuts away all of the undergrowth on agricultural land and ensures that the landscape stays clear and well maintained throughout the year. The primary benefit of bush hogging is that it can be done relatively quickly in large open fields, allowing you to use your valuable land with minimal upkeep. Additionally, bush hogging prevents potential hazards caused by overgrown vegetation such as ground fire hazards and blocked sight distances. Finally, bush hogging helps reduce weed populations which can impede crop growth while also retaining much needed soil moisture. All in all, bush hogging provides many practical benefits that make land maintenance an easy endeavor.
